By purchasing from Shield Doors & Windows, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing your order.

1. General

1.1 These Terms apply to the sale, delivery, and return of all doors, windows, and related products supplied by Shield to any customer.
1.2 By placing an order, you confirm you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.

2. Delivery

2.1 Method

  • Deliveries are made to residential and business addresses across our service areas.

  • Shield may use third-party freight providers where appropriate.

2.2 Kerbside Service

  • Deliveries are kerbside only (ground level, within property boundaries).

  • The delivery driver will place goods in the safest possible location at their discretion.

2.3 Delivery Distance Rule

  • If the delivery address is over 100 km from the nearest Shield warehouse, delivery will be made to the closest freight depot for customer collection.

  • Customers will be notified of the depot location and collection requirements in advance.

2.4 Timeframes

  • Standard delivery: 7–14 business days from the date of purchase.

  • Deliveries may take longer if stock requires transfer between warehouses before dispatch or if products are out of stock.

  • Delays may also occur due to supplier lead times or freight circumstances beyond our control.

2.5 Packaging

  • Most Products are delivered on pallets or skids; individual wrapping may be used as needed.

3. Returns & Restocking

3.1 Policy

  • Returns accepted within [insert timeframe] of delivery.

  • Products must be unused, undamaged, and in original packaging.

3.2 Fees

  • 20% restocking fee applies to all returns unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law.

  • Freight charges for returns are the customer’s responsibility unless the product is faulty or incorrect.

3.3 Process

  • Products must be returned to the closest Shield location, with proof of purchase required.

4. Product Variations

  • Images, dimensions, and descriptions are provided in good faith. Actual colours, grain patterns, and finishes may vary due to manufacturing tolerances, supplier changes, or natural material differences (e.g., timber batches).

5. Stock Availability & Lead Times

  • All delivery timeframes assume stock availability at the time of order.

  • If items are out of stock or made to order, extended lead times will apply and customers will be notified before processing payment.

  • Special order products, clearly marked on the product page, may require 6–10 weeks for production and delivery. Customers will be notified if this applies to their order.

6. Customer Collection from Freight Depot

  • For deliveries sent to freight depots (e.g., over 100 km rule), customers are responsible for:

    • Arranging collection from the depot within the depot’s specified timeframe.

    • Inspecting goods at pickup for any visible freight damage.

7. Risk & Insurance

  • Risk passes to the customer upon delivery to the kerbside location or freight depot.

  • Customers should arrange appropriate insurance for storage, transit beyond depot, or on-site handling if needed.

8. Installation Responsibility

Shield does not provide installation unless otherwise arranged.

  • Customers must ensure qualified installers handle doors and windows in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Incorrect installation voids any warranty claims.

9. Freight Damage & Claims

  • Customers must inspect goods on delivery or collection.

  • Any visible freight damage must be reported within 24 hours with photographs.

  • Claims lodged outside this timeframe may not be accepted.

10. Liability & Compliance

10.1 Limitation of Liability

  • Shield is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the purchase, delivery, installation, or use of Products except as required by law.

10.2 Consumer Guarantees

  • These Terms comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

  • Your statutory rights under the ACL include guarantees that goods are of acceptable quality, match descriptions, and are fit for purpose.

11. Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate delivery details at checkout. Shield is not responsible for failed or delayed deliveries caused by incorrect information.

  • Ensure safe and reasonable access for delivery vehicles and personnel.

12. Amendments

Shield may amend these Terms at any time by updating this page. The version in effect at the time of purchase applies to your order.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of the relevant Australian state or territory.
